MS Office install discs?

#1 Post by maqo » Sun Jan 30, 2005 4:18 pm

I recently purchased a 2378-FVU with MS Office (Word / Excel) installed. However, it doesn't seem possible to install some of the basic Excel add-ins, such as the Analysis ToolPak or the Solver. Are the required .msi files that Office prompts for created on the IBM recovery discs once they're made, or since this is a packaged version of the program, am I just out of luck?

MS Office discs?

I do not have the answer to your question. You, or someone else, may be able to answer mine.

When you buy a ThinkPad with MS Office do you get back up discs of Office?

Or is Office pre-installed and shipped without back up discs?

Well, if IBM shipped the original Office installation discs, my question wouldn't have made much sense, would it?

you should've gotton the actual office cd's....if not you can call M$ and request them. they'll ask for your product id and blah blah blah...but they'll send em out to you.

I had lost my Office 2000 CD awhile back and called them up and they had sent a replacement set to me with a new cd key.
