x301 2.5" hdd?

#1 Post by jmb0008 » Sat May 02, 2009 11:14 pm

While browsing the Levovo outlet I saw some X301 refurbs listed with "64GB SATA 2.5" SSD Solid State Drive". Is this another Lenovo error? Tabook says all hdd options are 1.8" and I know the Intel X18-M option is 1.8". Can anyone tell me which lenovo statement is true :? ?

I can't see how your example cannot be a mistake. A 2.5" drive will not physically fit.

That's what I thought. Just another website quirk I guess. Thanks Brad.

I wonder if a 2.5" ssd could fit in the x301's optical drive bay. The Intel x25-m 80gb is just 6.8mm thick.

I was just thinking the same thing. I want X-series portability, with T-series larger screen. Where is my T300?? :-)

Anyway, should be possible, but you'd have to make a sled like the old ultrabay HDD adapter, which I doubt Lenovo has any interest in making. :-(
