T60/T60p/T61/T61p motherboard compatibility?
T60/T60p/T61/T61p motherboard compatibility?
I recall the t41/41/43 p and non-p boards were all physically compatible, all fitting in the same case. Is this also true for the t6x series stuff? Sorry, I've been out of the thinkpad loop for a while.
Re: T60/T60p/T61/T61p motherboard compatibility?
As far as I have seen standard 4:3 ratio T60 & T61's would be the same.

Re: T60/T60p/T61/T61p motherboard compatibility?
Only T60 motherboards are 100% compatible. 14,1 inch T61 motherboards can also be installed, but there are a few tradeoffs:
1. The T61 motherboard fits in a T60 but one screw on the upper right handrest does not fit
2. you need some new parts for the T61 series (fan, modem and pcmcia if you like to use them)
I am also planning to upgrade my T60 with a new motherboard (with wwan and intel gpu) and am therefore curious how you'll decide. Let me know

Hi guys,
my T60 is defect. Or rather the graphics card.
Here is a screenshot of the program.

Here the facts of the device:
IBM Thinkpad T60 14.1" 1400x1050
T2500 CentrinoDuo
TYPE: 2007-63G
S/N: L3-AF116 06/06
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon Mobility X1400
Pictures of the unit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nikolaj-ku ... 572875421/
Is it possible to build in a T61 board? Has anyone already done this? Are there any pictures of it maybe?
If the T61 board does not fit, what would be an alternative? I would like to include a Core2Duo processor.
Next Question, where can i get the necessary spare parts?
Best Regards
shuthichi
