Which model Thinkpad is this?
This photo is all I have. Available at an auction tomorrow, so please hurry!
If working, what would it be worth?
Image

Thanks in advance.

Never mind, it's either a 380 or 385 model.
Value: from $5.- upwards on eBay

Looks like a 760-series model. To give you some idea of the specs, the 760ED I used to have came with Pentium 133MHz CPU, 16MB RAM, 2GB HD, 12" XGA and Windows 95.

I paid about CA$8,000 for it in 1996. I imagine it's worth somewhat less these days ;)

You are right, the 380 does not have speakers in the palmrest, but the 760 does.
Thanks for the correction.

Checking on Lenovo: all references to the 760 series is no longer available, only the 770.

The HMM for the 760 series is in "vol4hmm.pdf":

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... FAN-3TJKLN

I have a copy of the PSREF that covers the 760 series that I can email to you. I tried putting it up on my FTP site but it doesn't download correctly for some reason...

edit: Hmmm.. I've tried downloading it onto another system and it does seem to work, so here's the link:

Maybe the copy of Adobe Acrobat 6 that I have on this system is hosed. Time to replace it with Foxit Reader I guess :) .

Thanks Ray, that info was missing in my txx-book collection.

Seems like a rather old machine.
eBay does not sound very promising for this type.
If I can get it for a few bucks (very likely), I'll consider it.
Or is there someone who would like it regardless?
In that case I'll try and get it for under max $10.- and flog it on for cost price + shipping to you.

Also the 760 has a small, rectangular, monochrome LCD panel at the top left corner of the base unit that provides system status information (e.g. HD activity, caps lock) in place of the usual LEDs.

It is. I doubt you'll be able to run anything beyond Win98 on it.

If you do buy it let me know because I may have some parts for it, including recovery CD, maybe even some RAM, cables, etc. -- if I can still find them ;)

It was a (rather filthy) 760XL with 60MB RAM, 2.1GB HD and running W98.
They keyboard still came up at an angle, and it was even running off the battery alone (CPU at 80MHz in the small display).
Came with 2 external floppies, the AC adapter and a carrying bag.
It was sold for $35.- (not to me).
