T4x ultrabay batt. in X6 ultrabase + X60s battery options

#1 Post by kajencik » Tue May 05, 2009 11:18 am

Hello,

As my X60 tablet is still laying dead for my current lack of money for the new motherboard I was today really surpirsed to get and older X60s machine as my work laptop, they said it is already old and too small and nobody wants it :) But i was really into it and I'm typing on it right now. What I have is a battery question - I have ultrabay battery for my T40 and T43p, can I use it in the X6 ultrabase? It seems to have a plastic pin which is preventing it from enetering the ultrabay slot in the ultrabase, but it could be easily pealed off, but is it safe....?

Thank you for answer

OK, so the answer is "No, it won't work" - the new ultrabay design have other battery connections than the older which fits in the T4x/R5x series. In adition - I found out that the X60s has five (!) different batteries which can be used (not at same time of course) - see here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... -62401.htm + the ultrabay one.
