FP Reader 4 Windows 7, build 7100

#1 Post by Truthfinder » Wed May 06, 2009 10:02 pm

Good evening:

Would anyone know why the FP software won't work in Windows 7, 7100 ? I had it working AOK in the previous beta version, but no luck with this new build.

Thanks in advance, Steve :-)

Huh?

The T60 in my sig has a fingerprint reader and it has worked since the first beta and on build 7068 and now build 7100.

If you go into the control panel, what is listed under 'Biometric Devices'?

I'm using the driver that came with the RC. I didn't even bother downloading the Lenovo software because Windows 7 supports it.

Thanks to all who responded...... I'm so accustom to using XP and needing drivers for all the goodies, I didn't think to look for the built in goodies in Windows 7. Needless to say, I was able to get it set up and all is AOK.

Also, I'd like to report that Win 7, 32bit: 7100 is working out very well. Thus far no pressing issues to resport. These are a few minor issues which MS will surely work out over time. This operating system appears to load much faster than XP, however, this may result from a lack of the tons of software I have in my XP system.... I've installed Office 2007, Adobe Creative Suite 2.0, Macromedia Studio V:8 and each works flawlessly....... I was also able to import my Outloot PST files and favs... Thus Outlook is working great in both XP and Win 7 in my dual boot config.
I will report back from time to time as things progress.

Best to all, Steve :-)
