FS: One Day Old Thinkpad x200 2.4, 160, 2gb, 6c, fingerprint
Hello, I have a brand new x200 for sale, built 3-19-2009, and delivered on May 7, 2009.
The product number is 7459-69u,
Specifications Are:
P8600(2.4GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HDD, 12.1in 1280x800 LCD, Intel 4500MHD, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1GB Ethernet, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, Camera, Intel Turbo Memory, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32
Price paid, with shipping was $964.39. Asking for $700, local pickup in NY, or $715 shipped within the Continental US. My curiosity got the better of me and I opened the package to see the notebook without realizing I might not be able to return the notebook. I think once the package is opened it is no longer returnable, unless I'm mistaken.
Everything is in excellent shape (less than one day old), and the screen is very sharp. The keyboard is quite comfortable also. I will add a picture tomorrow when I get some batteries for my camera.
My email address is Gunsnewing@hotmail.com Email me for my phone # if you would like to speak over the phone.

If it came directly from Lenovo, it appears it can be returned within 21 days with a 15% restocking fee. It would have to be sealed and Lenovo's mistake for a full refund.

Welcome to the forum!
May I suggest that:
a) You remove the serial number from the post
b) Provide some references (eBay, heatware...) since you're new to the forum and our Marketplace.
Best of luck with the sale.

It seems like you'll get more back if you return it than selling it here.

Thanks very much for letting me know- I purchased it through an online reseller- they say on their site that I have to contact the manufacturer in order to get a return authorization which I can then use to request an RMA number from the reseller's distribution center. Is this still only subject to a 15% restocking fee, and do you know if they're going to give me a hard time about it? I don't know if I should name the website here, but I've heard they are a pain to deal with.

Why don't you return it and replace it with another order? I did that to a few of my X301s because I did not pay attention to the specs when ordering. I finally got it right and was never charged for restocking and they even sent me a UPS shipping label.

Perhaps I should try and do that. I spoke with Lenovo's India-based return phone team who told me I had to get an RMA directly from the reseller and that they could not issue any sort of authorization # since they did not sell the unit directly. This is reasonable, but here is what the reseller website states:
Products marked "Manufacturer's Warranty" may be returned within 30 days of the invoice date only with the prior approval by the manufacturer. In this case, the product manufacturer requires that the consumer (or "end-user") contact them directly with any returns requests. Returns for refund or exchange through [Website Name Removed] require a manufacturer case number or reference number that will allow [Website Name Removed] to process the return request through its distribution source.
I believe this website may require this stipulation because it is an impossibility, thus giving them an argument to deny returns on notebooks. I completed their form for RMA request and they state 2-3 days turnaround before considering an RMA request. I guess I will see what happens before making a decision as to my next action.
Should I just ship it back if they deny RMA and reverse charges, try and resell it etc.? I am fine with paying a restocking fee. I probably should have ordered direct through Lenovo.
