Intel 2100 lan 3B mini PCI on T40 ??

Very crazy, as soon as I inserted this adaptor and T40 said Unthorized netowrk card plugged in and remove it. It was the model #wm3B2100 date : 09/09/03 . It looks like brand new & bought it on Ebay and seller said for Thinkpad T40 series.

Can it be used or just throw it away ??

Does it have a FRU number on it? If not, it's not an IBM-issued card and hence the boot error.

Return the card, and get a newer, proper card with a FRU in the Marketplace here, or on eBay:

Thanks for your reply and it has no FRU #. Let me try it on other laptops and see what happen.

I paid it only $6.95 along with other purchase from same seller and not worth to pay shipping back & forth.

It should work on most other laptops - just not IBM. IBM has a BIOS lock out for non-IBM wi-fi cards (supposedly an FTC RF emission thing.................)

You need to disable the BIOS check for "IBM approved" WiFi. Google for "no-1802".
