T61p Vs T400/500?

#1 Post by Harendra Fernando » Sat May 16, 2009 2:47 pm

Hi, Since September 2008, I have been waiting to buy T61p for time & memory consuming simulations/calculations. Some shops say T61p has been discontinued.
Can anyone advice me what is the best match (or even better machine), among all the models, to T61p?

Intended use is only for calculations/simulations and not for gaming or watch movies.

Thanks in advance for your advices.

The "P" models were replaced with the "W" series. Lenovos replacement for the T61p are both the W500 (15 inch) and the W700 (17 inch) models.

You can still get a T61 on Lenovo's outlet Web site. Some say it's still a better machine than the T400.

I think very few would say that, and their claims would be mostly opinion, nitpicking etc. The only serious complaint in the T400 was about the keyboard flex, which has been addressed.

Edit: I mean, of course, when comparing apples to apples. The T61 did have a 4:3 14" option, which some might prefer to the widescreen.
