So I bought a NC6400 C2D laptop on ebay for $400.
When i orignally purchased the laptop, The website did not have a company/model number so the only thing i knew was what was written in the item description.
In the description, the laptop was described as a 12inch C2D laptop and other attributes which were as specified.
Now that i have obtained the laptop, the screen size is actually 14.1 inch.
I need a laptop currently for school and would not like to be without one. Also this laptop though bigger, does everything i need. So i don't want to return it to the seller.
However, I would like some sort of refund as a 12inch laptop usually goes for more than a 14.1 inch one.
So how do i go about getting some money back without having to return the whole thing for a refund + paying return shipping costs?
Anybody have a similar experience.
Thanks,

Re: Question about Laptop Bought on ebay.
Can you provide the eBay item number? It's hard to give advice without knowing the exact description of the auction.
That said however, buying an item without knowing exactly what it is (no manufacturer name and model number) puts you partially at fault; the saying "buyer beware" applies here. About the only thing you can really expect from the seller (and eBay) is a return due to an error in the listing. Essentially, eBay's "Not as described" procedure:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/item-not-received.html
As far as I can tell, the HP NC6400 was not offered with a 12" display option. That eliminates any kind of price differential discussions as you would have no MSRP figures to refer to. My advice would be to be happy with the system and chalk this transaction up to experience. If you really desire a 12" system, keep the NC6400 in good shape and sell it in a couple of months during summer break.
