Lenovo seem's to think, that I'm not allowed to upgrade my WLAN card to a card not produced by Lenovo...
I'm trying to upgrade my Thinkpad with a Intel WiFi Link 5100 (Model: 512AN_MMW)... and I'm not allowed! After some searching, I found that there is 3 way to get this to work;
- Altering the BIOS to allow the unauthorized card! (Google is great, but can't find anyone that have done this with succes on the T500)
- Altering the device id of the WLAN card to match an authorized adapater (seems like a great idea, but the only link I can find to do this, seems to be broken)
- Cover pin 20 (tried this... pulled out the old adapter, covered pin 20 on the new... and still unauthorized...)
