What's up with my Vista?

Ok, new T400 was delivered the last week of dec. Ever since I got this, I've had nothing but issues with Vista. In my Event Viewer, I have a TON of Errors and Warnings. Whenever I plug in a digital camera, or phone, Vista makes that sound that something isn't correct, not the pleasant sound like it should. I always have driver issues, and always have messages saying "Host Process Stopped Working". It's driving me insane. This laptop is strictly for work, and is used daily. Vista Business btw.

I have seen instances where the factory installation of Windows somehow got corrupted (during shipping?) and the Thinkpad worked much better after doing a full recovery using the on-board restore partition. YMMV

Would I benefit from the thread "how to clean install of Vista with upgrade media" since that's what I have, upgrade media?
About 2 months ago, this laptop was reinstalled with Vista.
