acronis true image clone procedure question?

#1 Post by gery350 » Fri May 22, 2009 5:59 pm

quick question guys,
i want to clone my friends hard drive. being that it isnt my hard drive i dont feel comfortable installing acronis on his drive(JIC it screws something up). the destination hard drive has acronis on it but will be overwritten during the clone process. heres my question:
will the acronis utility work even though it will be overwritten during the clone process. running a t30 with the source drive on the primary slot and the destination on the ultrabay.
thanks, gery

I have Acronis 2009 and it will create a boot cd. You can then boot the laptop from the CD and clone one drive to the other.

Easy and cheap to get a USB enclosure for the hard drive. Put the new drive in the laptop, the old drive in the enclosure, and boot to the CD and clone.
