Win7 Integrated WWAN Control

#1 Post by motocrossmann » Fri May 29, 2009 12:42 am

Does anyone have the Win7 integrated WWAN control working with their device? It looks like it is supposed to support connectivity to AT&T, etc integrated into the OS without the need for watcher software/access connections/whatever.

I have it working with Access Connections, but I desparately want to dump that peice of bloatware. Perhaps my sierra wireless drivers are too old. I had to hack the old Vista drivers to get it to work at all.

OK, I found my answer. Sierra Wireless only has drivers that support the integrated WWAN management in w7 for these two devices:

AT&T Mercury Connect / Compass 885 (Which look like the same device)

These two have windows update drivers available that work with Windows 7 Mobile Broadband client. Bummer for me with my old MC8765 card.
