R61 Rescue & Recovery not working

I used to make an incremental system backup by means of Rescue & Recovery (run from menu ThinkVantage / Rescue and Recovery) every month with no problem. Backups are stored on external USB drive.

But since about one month I am unable to run the Rescue and Recovery environment - after running it there is no program window opened. But, when I check Task Manager, there are also following processes running: rrpservice.exe and rrservice.exe, that are in my opinion related to R&R. Also for a minute or so there is a process rnr_gui.exe, but it is closed after while and nothings happens.

Can somebody help me? May be there some not running service or something like that causing this problem?

Second problem: System Update is not working for some timeand there is only message: Check again in May.... Well, today May is ending and no new version of System Update is there.... Is Lenovo making jokes? Maybe they think about May 2010:-)))
