Like it or not, the Netbook / Smartboook / Whateverbook is causing a lot of excitement, attracting a lot of attention and sure to change the mobile computing space in ways that we have not previously experienced. Here is another article I find quite interesting and wanted to share.

At the very least it gives us reason for a lively conversation. Be sure to check in with your opinion.

Re: Nvidia Netbooks: Windows Now... Android Later...
That last statement, "WVGA displays are typically the resolution (800x480) that is necessary to show most Web sites in full page-width.", I cannot agree with. My minimum width would be 1024 pixels. In the very old days of the web it used to be that web designers coded for VGA displays. I think most people now consider XGA to be the minimum. If one of the main purposes of a netbook is to simply browse web sites, then I wouldn't want to scroll horizontally when trying to read/navigate sites.
For example, in my Firefox browser right now, I've got My Yahoo!, this forum (2 pages), eBay (2 pages), the cNet article and Wikipedia opened up in tabs. Of these 7 pages, care to guess which ones don't require scrolling in an 800 pixel wide window? Only one of them - the eBay search page. The ones which come close to fitting an SVGA screen are the TPF pages - there's about 10 pixels side-to-side movement. Next is Wikipedia. Fortunately, there's nothing missing in the display on the right side where 25 pixels fall off the screen. The cNet and Yahoo pages are missing about 190 pixels; for cNet it's not much of a loss since the right sidebar mostly contains ads. However, with the My Yahoo page, the left sidebar takes up some much room, that about 1/4 of the actual content on the right side is off-screen. Again, there's mostly whitespace but a table at the bottom is cut off. Finally, the My eBay page is about 350 pixels too wide to display on the SVGA resolution. Two columns of information are "missing". Sure, I could re-arrange both the Yahoo! and eBay pages so they fit better by using their layout options, possibly having to remove some existing content in order to get the rest to "fit". And I would if the netbook were the only computer that I have, but that's not the case.
