Missing Create Recovery Discs.lnk & Create Rescue Media.lnk

Please help....

Whenever I press the Access IBM on my T42, I get 2 error windows saying >>
Missing Create Recovery Discs.lnk &
Missing Create Rescue Media.lnk

Because of this I am not able to create Recovery Discs.
I want to format the whole machine and I do require recovery discs for the same.

I am not able to fix this problem,
I need somebody's help....

You should resize/crop your pic - check the Forum picture guidelines.

I'm not a R&R expert but I've always gotten to Create Recovery Media through START MENU>THINKVANTAGE. Out of curiosity, what happens when you press the blue Access IBM button when booting? If it doesn't take you to the R&R screen, the Recovery Partition is likely damaged or perhaps missing entirely.

Even if the R&R partition is damaged, Is there a solution for the same?
As I want to get the factory settings on it.
