TP slow to adjust to power settings...

#1 Post by James314 » Wed Feb 02, 2005 6:37 am

I have noticed recently that say I have been using my tp on battery for a few hours, then when i come back to it later and plug it into the mains, when i switch it on, there is considerable lag before it realises it needs to be on AC mode, so for eg - the screen is dimn as it should be on battery mode. It finally kicks in and swaps to AC settings when im in windows and half way through the desktop loading. This never used to happen before - it used to be instant swap over. Any suggestions as to what this might be??

Hello to all by the way! I look forward to enjoying this forum and contributing as much I can! :D

The only thing I can now suggest is to do updates, I remember hearing some programming-faults regarding some old version of Battery MaxiMiser.
Also check the WindowsUpdates, it's always good to be up-to-date.

Just thought id say that i installed the new power managment/battery maximiser drivers and that they did not resolve the issue. If anyone has any ideas, they would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

J.

Mine has always been like that. It keeps the old display settings from when it was turned off, and only applies the new settings when the power/battery maximiser application loads on startup.

I don't tihnk it's an error, but probably has something to do with how ACPI interfaces with the BIOS and software power settings.
