IBM X31 memory upgrade

Hi all,
I want to upgrade memory in my thinkpad, is this model compatible with all types of 333 and 400 MHz DDR memory ? Or I have to try memory before I will buy it ?
I am asking in case that I want to buy it from the internet.

what about this model:

Hynix
1GB Module DDR SoDimm 200-Pin PC2700 CL=2.5 non-ECC Unbuffered DDR333

ok and what about other types ? is my thinkpad compatible with all brands and models of DDRam ?

All DDR PC2700 (333Mhz) CL2.5 non-parity SODIMMs are pretty much "standard". I'd say that as long as you stick with the major names in the memory module business, you should be fine (Samsung, Hynix, Infineon, Elpida, ProMOS, Mitsubishi, Crucial, Corsair, Kingston). Two other pieces of advice: buy from someone who will accept returns and test the module(s) when you receive them using a program like memtest86+.
