250GB encrypted drive option

Considering upgrading my T61 to a T400 and wanted some more information on the 250GB 7200 drive option with encryption. Anyone know the drive's manufacturer? And can someone fill me in on the encryption method -- is it hardware or software controlled?

Otherwise I'm opting for the standard "Elite" options with the following upgrades:
T9400 processor (OK, so that's standard)
3GB RAM
WXGA high-nit LED display
Thinkpad BGN WiFi
250GB drive (as noted above)

Shame there's no other discrete graphics option... 256MB is a bit on the miserly side
