how do you know when a new battery is fully charged

#1 Post by thegeezer3 » Fri Jun 05, 2009 9:57 am

I just inserted a new battery into my thinkpad ( 8 cell exteneded) and the battery icon with the plus sign lit up straightaway. 5 hours later and it hasnt changed.

Am i right in assuming that when the battery is fully charged the light goes off?

No. Here's what the battery indicators do:

Solid orange: Charging
Blinking green: Nearly fully charged.
Solid green: Fully charged, or discharging(when running off of battery)

Blinking orange means your battery is almost fully discharged, if you're running off battery.

Hope this helps!
