If your X301 is giving not waking from sleep

#1 Post by Greg Gebhardt » Sat Jun 06, 2009 5:16 pm

Then I found the cure. The NEW system update from Lenovo is up and running and after download 27 updates, including new bios (totals of over 500mb) my X301 works perfectly. It goes to sleep and wakes up over and over without a glitch. Not sure what else was fixed but this was big for me.

I did find that after all the installes were over and the system rebooted, you needed to leave your laptop alone for a while. Not sure if files were being re-indexed or what but there is ALOT of hard drive and CPU activity for a while. After about 30-40 minutes all settled down and is working like a charm. My X301 would not wake up or go to sleep with any dependability with it's stock 128gb SSD and still did not with the current 80gb Intel SSD, but it does now.

Happy, all works as it should now.

I noticed the same behaviour (HDD activity) after updating a T61 with the new BIOS. I've actually never seen any computer desktop or laptop do this after a BIOS update before... I attributed it to VISTA being annoying again. Are you alro running Vista Business or Ultimate 32bit?
