Suggestions for x200 sleeve case

#1 Post by Hazarrd » Tue Jun 09, 2009 11:54 am

I'm looking for suggestions on a good sleeve case for the x200 with 9cell battery (it sticks out a bit). I had a Shinza for my x61 and loved it. Doesn't look like they make an x200 model.

Thanks!

I am selling a new Waterfield Sleeve that will fit an X200 with a 9 cell. PM me the exact dimensions and I'll double check.

I've sworn by Sumdex ImpactGuards for all my Xseries for a while. The 13.3 should have enough space for a 9cell.

I'm still a fan of the Booq Vyper semi-rigid ballistic nylon sleeves. They have discontinued some sizes so availability may be sparse, but then, you may find a sale or clearance bargain at another seller.

Absolutely! They are fantastic ... It's just that there is nothing even close in size (either current or discontinued models) to the X200 ...

Yeah, it's true that they design around macs. :(

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the X200 is 11.6" x 8.3" x 0.8" (295x210x20.7 mm). If so, I guess there's a little play with the XS. Pop a notebook in there with it, and it might still be desirable. :??:

Anyhow, here's a general dimension list:
  • VYP-BLK-L Vyper L
    Internal= 14.20" x 10.9" x 1.60" (WHD) (15" Diag)
    (361 x 277 x 41mm)
  • VYP-BLK-M Vyper M
    Internal= 13.75" x 9.50" x 1.20" (WHD) (15" Diag Powerbook)
  • VYP-BLK-M2 Vyper M2
    Internal= 14.10" x 9.60" x 1.00" (WHD) (15.4" Diag MacBook Pro 2007)
  • VYP-BLK-M3 Vyper M3
    Internal= 14.35" x 9.82" x 0.95" (WHD) (15.4" Diag MacBook Pro Unibody)
    (364x249x24mm)
  • VYP-BLK-XL Vyper XL
    Internal= 15.40" x 10.20" x 1.00" (WHD) (17" Diag Powerbook)
  • VYP-BLK-XL2 Vyper XL2
    Internal= 15.40" x 10.40" x 1.00" (WHD) (17" Diag MacBook Pro)
    (391x264x25mm)
  • VYP-BLK-XS2 Vyper XS2
    Internal= 12.78" x 8.92" x 1.08" (WHD) (13" Diag MacBook/Air)
  • VYP-BLK-XS Vyper XS
    Internal= 11.20" x 9.10" x 1.40" (WHD) (12" Diag iBook)
  • VYP-BLK-XXS Vyper XXS
    Internal= 10.90" x 8.60" x 1.18" (WHD) (12" Diag Powerbook)
  • VYP-BLK-XM Vyper XM
    Internal= 12.70" x 10.20" x 1.35" (WHD) (14" Diag iBook)

I just got Crumpler's Gimp 12" for my X200s. I too have 9-cell battery and Gimp fits PERFECTLY. Only problem could be getting that sleeve, I believe that they've been discontinued. There's still good few on ebay or amazon though.
i run linux on my thinkpad x200s; it's stable, fast, secure and it's a great way to stay in shape

Thanks all. I decided to go with the Waterfield. Didn't get any snazzy addons. Just the vertical version. I thought about the strap, but what good is the strap without being able to carry the power cord? And then I discovered the piggyback, but for $22 + $15, it doesn't make economic sense. My backpack is more than suitable.

Thanks again!
