mini-PCI and error 1802
I am replacing my Cisco Aironet 350 mini-PCI wireless card w/a Broadcom BCM94306MP card.
I disabled the Cisco first and then uninstalled the aironet client utitlity along with the Cisco Aironet wireless card driver. I then took out the card and replaced it with the Broadcom. I then rebooted and got the beep w/ error 1802.
I giggled the 1802 and got an ISO for floppy drive (yeah I have one for my T30). How and do I need to create a bootable image of that ISO. The ISO is called no-1802-disk. I have not very familiar with floppy drives so how would I make an ISO with this zip program?

ISO for FDD? May be this is ISO for a bootable CD?

Re: mini-PCI and error 1802
well I downloaded both the CDISO and the floppy image. This is the link to the site
http://www.command-tab.com/2006/02/26/t ... error-fix/
If I can't get the laptop to even get me into Windows w/ the card I don't know what else to do. I'm typing this with my old card and my Linux hard drive. The reason I'm changing the card is b/c someone's had success w/ WPA in both Linux and WinXP here on the forum with it. I also read it's a b/g card. The Cisco Aironet 350 is a "b" only card.

Re: mini-PCI and error 1802
Well I got it to work.
Very new experience for me... kinda scary there for a bit!
Okay I used a driver for the Dell Truemobile 1300. First I had to use an ISO for the no-1802 hack. I was very leery about this b/c it's messing with BIOS and I didn't want a brick here! I was tired of messing with this all day and just wanted it to end so I booted the ISO (with the old card in) and let the program run until I got to a part that asked me to type in no-1802.
I typed that in and there was no confirmation that anything was applied. This was the confusing part so I did it again. And feeling maybe one more time wouldn't hurt at this point did it again. I rebooted by typing in "restart" (or something like that). The Windows logo came on and immediately after logging into an account the PNP began to load the drivers for the Cisco.
Okay no problem. I disabled the card and uninstalled the driver again. Shut-off the comp and exchanged cards. The first thing I noticed that I booted past POST. The Windows logo came on and I nearly fell out of my chair.
It worked!!!
Now I didn't know if XP would start looking for drivers. It did but didn't find one. It asked if I wanted to go online to find one (uh...the wireless isn't working) or find a location (on CD or browse HD) for one. I already had one so I ran the .exe for the Dell driver. It extracted to the C Drive. I then went with the option of finding the driver with the directory. I guided it to the dell folder in C drive and put the highlight on on a folder called AR. It immediately began to install and tell me that it was a success
Now instead of 11 mb/s in my wireless status I have 54 mb/s.
