Welcome to the forums and really sorry to hear of the problem you've got.

I'm referring to this fuses diagram which is really for T40-2, so may well be different for T43.

Is the fuse you're referring to in the same position on the diagram and is it a 7A fuse? If so then that's the main 16V fuse.

What happened for the fuse to blow? I'll be honest with you but if all the other fuses are OK then there must be a component failure as well which means a replacement board.

yes it's the main 16V fuse.
the fuse blow may due to lightning strikes or electrical surges
what are the suspected components failure?

thanks..

I remember seeing a bolt of lightning, looking like a solid column from the sky, strike the ground about 20m away from me when I was visiting Singapore many years ago - never forgotten that.....

Lightning strikes and voltage surges can cause all sorts of damage, but the first thing I'd suggest is to check the AC Adapter works - It should be giving out 16V DC on your meter.
If your meter doesn't read DC volts have a look at this document which shows how to make a little LED tester using two components and no soldering.

Does it work on the battery (assuming the battery was sufficiently charged)? If not, are the battery fuses F9 and F12 OK on the underside of the the board?

To be honest it's could be any number of components which have blown, and on desktops I've looked at which have been hit with voltage surges (usually caused by the power supply becoming faulty and sending the outputs high), every component needed replacing - Power supply, main board, CPU, HDD, CD drive, memory etc.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but this has been my experience.

Check the main battery fuse too. That will be F11 or F12.
T43 supports two batteries. The main battery and a battery in the the bay slot.
I do not recall which fuse is for which battery. Better check them both.
In addition to poshgeordie's fuse diagram, this diagram might help too.

If the battery fuse is also blown - which I believe it is - then it will not help to replace it at this stage. It will just blow again.
But it will help the diagnosis to know whether or not the battery fuse is also blown.

i've 2 AC adaptors..the one connected with T43 during Lightning strikes doesn't has 16V DC on meter so it's was bad.
spare AC adaptor still in working condition.

i've checked all the fuses working fine except F2 was blow.

i also sent to Lenova service they told me that the mainboard and cpu spoiled.the repair cost up to sgd$1.5k so i decided not to repair.

already replaced cpu pentium M 735.

based on the t41_block_01_v1.1.pdf diagram, TPC8014, TPC8109,TPC8111, TPC8203 could be damaged?

Any one of those components could be blown - and so could (m)any others too.

If Lenovo say your CPU is damaged then I'd say a new board is needed.

What is the FRU number of the board - I believe you have to remove the keyboard and RAM and the number is under there.

Also what is the model number of the T43 - eg 2374-ABC.

From this information we may be able to help you with finding a replacement board and CPU etc.

Information I can find on that number from the Lenovo site:

It's based on 2669-43A: P M 750(1.8GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1in 1024x768 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM)

Referring to this page and scroll down to section 15 and 2669-43A is fitted with motherboards 39T0476, and 39T0479.

So it's now off to eBay Singapore and currently there are two:
This one from USA for around S$ 190

and one here from Malysia for a (whopping!) S$436.

Note too that you may need to replace the CPU and memory too.

Your one was originally fitted with a 1.8GHz Intel Pentium M processor 750 part numbers SL7SR, SL86A, SL7S9 and going to eBay Singpore again there's a wide range from USA, with the cheapest for SL7S9 here for S$23

Memory is DDR2-533 SDRAM SO-DIMM (PC2-4200 [minimum]) and on eBay is typically here for around S$51 via USA.

Not a complete list by any means but gives you an idea on price and availability.

Also note that I'm only giving you prices but I have no idea as to the reliability etc of the goods

A very good alternative is to see if there's any good T43 base assemblies - ie motherboards already fitted with a CPU, or of course a WTB on the Marketplace here.

Please check my information for accuracy - I'm fairly certian it is but don't rely on that.

thanks for the info..
the parts are not cheap..
i think i try to rework change the related power ICs 1st..
