Order Status: Customizing\Packing

#1 Post by LinuxGuy75 » Mon Jun 07, 2004 12:41 pm

I ordered a 2373-KUU on 5/21. The estimated ship date has been 6/30.

Today I checked the status and it has changed to "Customizing\Packing".

Since I didn't have any customization, I expect packing to go pretty quickly.

For those of you who have already gone through this process, how long should I expect for it to be in the current state?

When do you think I'll get it in my hands (I ordered with 2 day shipping).

Thanks!

You should have it by the end of the week at the latest. I'm guessing Wednesday or Thursday best case. It should ship by tonight, be in the US tomorrow, clear customs in a day, and then be at your door by 10:30am after that.

Clearing customs in a day...good luck!! One thing to think about...you probably will not benefit from the upgraded shipping since they already ship out of Hong Kong via 2 day shipping. Once mine cleared customs it was express overnited to me...and that was with the free shipping.

John... the clearing customs in a day is not that far fetched. The reason our machines were delayed (and extra day) was because of the Memorial Day holiday. I have another friend who received his T42p in about 3 days from when it said it had shipped. Total transit time was 3 days.

All in all, LinuxGuy75 can totally expect his machine before the week is out.

So should I change my shipping to the free ground shipping and save $50?

Doh! So it flopped back and forth a few times between from "Customizing\Packing" to "Backordered until 06/30/04". Then it stayed on the Backordered status.

Now a few weeks after the flopping, it's back to "Customizing\Packing". Let's hope this time it's for real.

This laptop has a 2.0 Ghz 755 CPU. I wonder if that was the cause of the delay.

Please let us know if it ships as it means the 2.0GHZ systems are shipping. Thanks.
