I'm using a T41 Thinkpad. As with any TP I've seen, it has two buttons by the keyboards right-left-up-down arrow keys. These buttons (actually keys) act the same as the 'back one page, forward one page' mouse buttons in internet explorer. It is quite handy having these keys! But I prefer Firefox and the keys do nothing in FF.
Question, is there any way to get these keys to work in FF? Some config entry or KB mapping trick??
Thanks

Re: special KB keys and Firefox
OK, dr_st's post got me going (thanks). Checked the OS's here. There are four that use the same installation and profile of FF. On W2K and Win7 the buttons work, on XP and 98 they did not. From that I figured it had to be a software issue specific to that OS, not FF, maybe something with the Keyboard Customizer Utility.dr_st wrote:These keys always work for me in FF...
Opened the utility in XP and in the 'Key Sensitivity' tab saw an unchecked box called 'Enable Browser Keys'. Checked it, tested it and voila, they work now in XP
As for 98, the KB utility is not installed, don't recall why and will have to look into it.
