X200 With SAS Disk

#1 Post by abcd770 » Fri Jun 12, 2009 5:40 am

Hello~~
I've the X200,74574ac,P8400/1G/160G/WIFI,Without BT/Camera/Finger

And,I've a lot of HP 2.5'' 10K 300G SAS Disks.

I'd like to know, can I replace the 160G WD SATA Disk with my 300G HP SAS Disk?

I've call the 800,they told me,X200 with it base can extend with another disk,to build a RAID.

I'd like to know,is the SouthBridge ICH9M has RAID CHIP?

Can I use the SAS Disk in my X200?

Thanks a lot!!

Welcome to the forum!

First of all, there is no way to run that 10k rpm SAS inside a X200 (because of the power consumption, the interface SAS vs. SATA and probably its thickness despite being 2.5''). Also, I highly doubt that you will be able to put such a disk in the base for the same reasons mentioned above.

Cheers,

OK,I've tried.

the SATA disk, between the Power interface and the Data interface, there's somethings...

but the sas disk,there's nothing..

only the plastic..

and I can't setup the sas disk inside the x200.

I don't wanna to destroy my X200..

HOHO.
