X30 cannot be unlatched from port replicator

#1 Post by Charles Krug » Fri Jun 12, 2009 12:11 pm

I gave an old X30 & 91P9024 docking station to our production department. Worked great for six months, but now the TP & dock cannot be separated. The latch feels like it's been "disconnected". Any tips on repairing this? Or, perhaps on simply separating the units?
Thanks!
Jim

from the back corners, if you insert a slim knife blade at about 45 degree angle,
you can push the 2 little hooks forward, and disengage the base. I found it easier
to do the left side first, looking from the back.

my base was lacking a 4mm dia by 6mm long metal stud that connects the lever to the
plastic part that slides sideways to disengage the hooks. In dismantling, a screw will be found
under the "how-to" plastic, toward the lever side: the others are all obvious.
the way up and the way down are the same (heraclitus)

Thank you for the advice. My pocket knife didn't do the trick, so I'll find something a little more sturdy. Jim
