X301 Clockspeed

#1 Post by terraphantm » Fri Jun 12, 2009 6:27 pm

Hi, I just got an X301, and I love the laptop so far, but I have a minor issue. When I have the laptop running on battery, instead of the CPU decreasing clockspeed for the sake of battery, CPU-Z indicates that it goes up to 1.6 GHz. Now this is especially unusual since the SU9400 is only rated to 1.4GHz as far as I know. Main thing I'd like to know is how to get the clock speed to go down while on battery, and if it's possible to force it to run at 1.6 while plugged in. I don't have stability issues or anything of the sort.

here's a screenshot of CPU-Z. I also have a validation link here

My guess would be it's a CPU-Z issue, which has had reporting problems in the past.
