X60 tablet (G4) Digitizer datasheet wanted

#1 Post by MrBean » Fri Jun 12, 2009 7:28 pm

Hello Guys,
I know someone here should be able to help, and hope they will ;)

I need the hirose connector pin-data for the G4 digitizer? I have a digitizer that I want to test, and possibly fix. It has a Panasonic flash device sitting as an interface between the connector and the Wacom propietary interface to the digitizer, the Panason chip is a MN101CF78.

I can't find much, and was hoping you might have some information.

The digitizer model is SU-040-X04.

I am sure it is out there, I just can't find it.

Will appreciate any help!!

Also posted this request in Erik's thread, hopefully he will see it and possibly help....

Thank you guys.

mrbean,

unfortunately, i don't have any pinouts for the wacom digitizer.   the only whitepaper i have is for the hydis display itself.   if i were you, i would source the necessary hirose connectors and build two 1:1 jumper harnesses to effectively lengthen the LVDS cable.   this would allow you to mount an X60T/X61T base in another location to drive the touchscreen feature.

food for thought.   fwiw though, i know less than zero about carputers so take my advice with salt. :P

Heya Erik,
Thanx for the quick reply. The LVDS is no worries, I'm actually using a Digitalview ALR-1400 to drive my current 8.4" Transflective LCD in the UTE, but my Commell LS-372 motherboard can directly drive the single-channel LVDS input too.

The problem is I want to convert the 12.1" panel to (very) high briteness, and utilize the Wacom digitizer as an input device.

The digitizer is faulty it seems, in that it doesn't work on my X60T that I built from the ground up, and I just received my new panel from Malaysia today. All good now, but I have a spare panel, and faulty digitizer, and was hoping to find some info somewhere on the type interface - either serial or USB.

Do do know which driver is loaded in the X60 with G4 digitizer? Is it serial driver, or Wacom Penabled or.....

Again, soz for off-topic, I created a new thread in this section, you can edit this post and transfer it with your reply :)

Anyway, thanx for your time, appreciated!

all of the tablet input drivers are based off of wacom bases.   in fact, i've used wacom's own drivers on my former X61T to gain pressure sensitivity (512 levels, iirc) in photoshop.

on a side note, at 14.6cm x 10.1cm, that commell LS-372 is one SMALL motherboard! :o   i had no idea anything like that existed.   i may have to find an excuse to combine something like that with an 8" USB display and create myself an extremely tiny computer.   lol :D

Yep, it's exactly the size of a 3.5" harddrive :)

I have it running with a core-2-duo (Santa Rosa platform socket P cpu), and with a full XP from power on to desktop takes 22 seconds. It is very quick, and the reason I selected this for carputer use is the fact that it will be past POST and booting windows in 9 seconds - other boards take a lot longer to get past POST.

Running it off an OCZ Apex 60gig SSD too....fun, I tell ya...hehe

Get yourself one, they are decent little boards - you might want to get the LS-373 though, has one mini pci-express slot too...the LS-372 only has mini-pci.....

Keep me posted, and check www.mp3car.com/vbulletin -> this is their forums, you will be amazed what we do with carputers. Oops - rather don't check it out, you might get addicted.....

Re: X61 Digitizer Pinouts

i ended up splitting this into a new thread since the discussion became its own topic.

my X61s boots into server 2008 in about 35 seconds using a samsung SLC SSD.   i'm sure it would boot slightly quicker into XP.

i ended up finding one of your projects here.   very impressive work.   you're right about it being the size of a 3.5" HDD... man... it's small.

Thanx for splitting the threads, Erik, appreciated :)

Let me know if you get one for yourself....will keep you busy for a while. I'm compiling a new Win XP embedded image for mine, so basically tailoring the hardware support to suit just this device, keeping the OS under 300MB.

Will be even quicker then. Your lappy going 35sec in S2008 is impressive too!
