Hi everybody,
I like resolution and wanted to get a X60t tablet. I read on thinkwiki that there were some with 1400x1050 resolution.
Thus, I was wondering how much one can expect to pay for one of these tablets and how available are they?
I tried looking on ebay and wasn't able to find one.
Thanks

Re: X60t SXGA question
Yes, there are X60 Tablets with 1400x1050 resolution. I'm writing on one right now. I believe these models have been discontinued, and replaced by the X200/300/400 series, which are available in similarly high resolution screens, but not in the 4:3 aspect ratio. Because these are the last X series machines that Lenovo may ever make with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and at such a high resolution for its size, they are somewhat prized by some people. Every once in a while you will see one appear here in the Marketplace, but when I was looking for one I also found that they were not very common on eBay. You can also try your local Craigslist.postdiction wrote:I read on thinkwiki that there were some with 1400x1050 resolution.[...]how available are they?

The value is whatever people will pay. It probably changes every few weeks, but I would say that right now you could add a premium of anywhere from USD $75-250 for the high resolution screen versus a standard 1024x768 screen on two otherwise comparable X60/X61 systems.

Re: X60t SXGA question
I have two X60 tablets with SXGA+ screens as well as a X61T tablet with a XGA screen. I'd agree with pkiff's comments and would add that the resolution can be a bit hard to read for me but photos and other large image content benefit from the screen - the pixel pitch is the highest of any of the LCD screen I have here - and the brightness of the SXGA screens seems subjectively somewhat lower than the XGA tablet screen although the relative age of the backlights might influence that.
I've bought all of my tablets from eBay and have been patient and therefore able to pay from a high of $750 to a low of $511 for the SXGA+ tablets (vs. around $600 for the XGA X61T) - but then I've also taken chances on sellers with low feedback ratings - so far that has worked out with the exception of getting one X60 tablet for $550 that was supposed to be SXGA+ but turned out to be XGA - that one is being returned for a full refund.
The Lenovo outlet also sometimes has SXGA X61 tablets - but to find them you'll have to click through all of the descriptions and pay close to a $1,000 (and deal with the reported unreliability of the outlet).
