Installed New Monitor - Ghosting Problems R60

#1 Post by Student1 » Fri Jun 19, 2009 1:11 pm

So I upgraded my Laptop screen from an XGA to SXGA+. I installed the most recent X1400 Video Driver update and had it automatically search for the "Plug and Play" driver.

Whats happening is I am getting a ghosting effect. Like when I move a folder from the bottom left to the top right, there will be a milisecond of lag as it moves. When I scroll down a webpage, it looks like I am getting a rippled effect. How can I solve this?

Thanks

One thing you might want to try looking at is the color depth setting in the Display Properties window (right-click blank area of desktop; select Properties then click the Settings tab). If the color quality is set for 32 bits, drop down to 16 bits and see if that helps. Scrolling lag might be due to the "smooth scrolling" setting in Windows:

^^ Tyvm, it was set on 8 Bit, I changed it to 32 Bit and it works fine. No lag on the scrolling either.
