Thinkpad 240X - largest hard drive size

#1 Post by catback » Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:47 pm

Hi,

Is there a maximum drive size limit for the 240X line? I have a spare 320 GB drive that I would like to install in my 240X but I'm not sure if there are any limitations on drive size. The laptop is currently running Windows 2000 but XP Home can be installed if required. Thanks.

Hi catback,

I own a 240X and once tried to install a 250Gb HDD. It failed.
A 120Gb HDD was accepted.
What I learned from others on this forum is that the 240-series will recognize a HDD up until about 128Gb.
Kind regards,

Erik
