T30 backlit lcd problems ??

#1 Post by jasonmiamifl » Tue Jun 23, 2009 6:45 am

I had two T30, both had lcd display problem. #1 One had normal bright & colors, but completely cracked. #2 Other one had
nice clean normal lcd display, but very very dim .

So I did an experiment. First I took the inverter from the #1 crack lcd and inserted it to the #2 backlit problem lcd. It didn't work and it remained dark.

Then I carefully stripped both displays and used all the thin eletronic components from that #1 cracked lcd , and replaced them for the #2 backlit problem lcd.

Now when I powered on T30 #2 backlit problem and lcd screen only had bright white display screen without anything.

What else did I do wrong ??

Your kind helpful hint is greally appreciated.

(This is posted in the T4x forum instead of T2x/T30.)

You now seem to have 2 ruined T30 LCDs.
If you had asked before, we could have told you that all you needed to do, was transplant the good #1 CCFL (backlight tube at bottom of LCD) from the cracked LCD to the dim other #2 LCD.

You most likely also transferred some broken side-contacts from that cracked LCD.

Thanks for your reply and I first used the inverter from the crack lcd to the #2 dim lcd T30 and it didn't work. Next I transfer all thin pieces from the crack lcd & invertor onto the dim lcd screen . Unfortunately I got the blank bright lcd
finally. Haha....

It really not a big deal and I can find a working T30 lcd around $40 & replace the dim T30, then it will be a complete working T30 . but I just want to play with them and get some experience which good for future.

Regards
