i ordered a 08k8190 and got a 08k8191 instead..

are there any differences in specs? ibm doesnt seem to post actual capacity on their site, and doesnt even have the second FRU in their database..

I asked an IBM thinkpad tech support person specifically on the ultra slim bay battery a while back:

me: May I wonder what's the capaciity of the ultra slim bay battery for T42?
ibm: Let me check ... two hours.
me: I meant the capacity in Wh or mAh
ibm: w what?
me: Watt hour, a unit for electric energy capacity.
ibm: All info is on the ibm web page. If it's not there that means we don't have that.
me: Are you saying ibm doesn't know the scientific capacity of a battery it manufactures?
ibm: Yes.
me: Is it possible for you to check internally for me please?
ibm: Please refer to the ibm web page for specification.

well you get my point.

Don't sweat it man, same battery, jst a difference in IBM internal part number scheme for the same item being sold as an FRU(Field Replaceable Unit), CSU(Customer Replaceable Unit) or or as an OBI(Option by IBM).

It is one and the same.

25.8 watt hour is the full charge capacity i get through the battery maximizer info screen.

the label on the battery itself says 22 watt hours

the specs for the 08k8190 ultrabay slim battery say 15 watt hours, on every third party site i've found.

25.8 is quite a bit more than 15, i must say!

the battery is about half the size of the ultrabay 2000 battery i had in my old thinkpad, btw.
