MSoffice not working after OS reload
Hello.
I am using HP pavilllion Dv2000 and since my system was slow i reloaded the os from D Partition of the the thinkpad, now the problem is that when i am using the MSoffice it is saying that it is not installed and saying you have to run the setup. i checked the program files and there the MSoffice is there, what could be the reason? could some one please help me in this?
Regards

You are illegally copying Operating System from IBM machine to HP machine.rajeev5174 wrote: I am using HP pavilllion Dv2000 ... [and] i reloaded the os from D Partition of the the thinkpad,
Purchase Recovery CD for HP pavilion from HP Customer Service.

Re: MSoffice not working after OS reload
I am not copying any thing from IBM to HP, I am recovering the OS from the D partion of the HP thinkpad.. i am also having the recovery CD, but the manual say either you can use the recovery CD or while booting using the F11 keys recover from the partion.. i am puzzled when u are saying that i am doing pirating the software..this is just absurd!! i just asked in the helpboard why doing the recovery the software is not working? is there any thing more i have do? if some one knows please help??

There is no HP Thinkpad. What exactly do you have? Please provide a model number.

This is an IBM/Levono forum. Most of us here are not familiar with HP or Compaq machines.
Yes, many HP machines are able to recover Windows XP from hidden partition on HDD using F11 key. However, in my experience, it simply copies new copy of Windows XP on top of existing Windows XP -- many problematic items are not deleted. I prefer to start from scratch using recovery CDs. HP Recovery CDs also include the user software that the machine had when it was sold in the store.
You can burn your own CDs using HP PC Recovery CD Creator. However, you will not be able to burn a second generation of recovery CDs from those CDs. That is why I prefer to purchase Recovery CDs from HP.
