SOLD to forum member: Nice, custom T42 with high end options.

This ThinkPad began life as a T42p, but I replaced the failed motherboard with a high end T42 variety. It now has the 64MB ATI 9600 video chipset versus the 128MB ATI FireGL T2 chipset. This is still a high performance mobo. The full specifications are listed below.

Overall cosmetic condition is very good with slight keyboard and palmrest wear/scuffs (the lower right front of the palmrest shows two small bumps where a previous owner used screws that were too long, the correct screws are being used now). The LCD is the 15" UXGA IPS FlexView model. It is very high resolution (1600 x 1200). It is very bright but does have a few very faint, tiny, gray spots and rather obvious dark corners that flare up the sides. Please see all the pictures linked below. I have used the machine for a couple of months and you really do not notice them while working. The FlexView image is just gorgeous, that is what you notice. It is in perfect operating condition.

Also, the motherboard that I installed does support the fingerprint reader. If you wanted to upgraded you'd have to swap the palmrest and possibly the hard drive cage (although a pair of snips would permit the cage modification, if needed).
