Hi there,
Running a Thinkpad T22 with XP pro, Firefox and a whole pile of other software.
In the last few weeks, web page thumbnails have vanished. Ebay is an example. No thumbnails; the link is underlined and clicking on it will take me to the relevant page.
The same is happening with many other sites. I have run SpyBotS&D and Ad-Aware; the computer is clean. I restored from an image taken a few weeks ago when I know everything was running well, but still no thumbnails.
Does anyone have any ideas. It is most frustrating!
Many thanks in advance,
Rex

Maybe clean your Temp directory and the Internet browser cache?
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Re: Where have my Thumbnails gone!
When you do an image search on Google. do those thumbnails appear?
You probably still have IE on your system, do the pages that don't work in Firefox work with it?
In Firefox, under Tools / Options / Content, make sure there is a check in "Load Images Automatically" and check into the list under "Exceptions."
Also try Firefox in its own version of "safe mode" to see if the problem still occurs. (There should be an icon to do this in the Firefox group under the Start / Programs menu from the desktop.)

Gentlemen,
Many thanks for the various suggestions.
All temp directories are emptied when I close the browser. All other switches are set as suggested but that is how they have always been.
The bottom line is that for no apparent reason, all is now (for the moment!) back to normal. Could the ISP be doing something?
