Battery Issue?

#1 Post by Nomad-Man » Thu Jun 25, 2009 7:10 pm

Possible battery issue....
T43 2686
Battery PN 92P1087
NOM 10.8v
4.8AH
battery is about 4 yrs old

Doesnt seem to want to charge anymore, last night it was plugged in while I was using the computer and it only got to like
66% which started out at 64%. I know it doesnt charge as fast as when not using it. But after a hour you would think that it would have been charged more. I did try charging while not using the computer and it wont take a full charge.

Im guessing the battery is toast?
Looking at the battery info in "power manager"
Condition is marked as poor
"your battery can only store 54% of its original full charge capacity......to increase battery lifespan, you have set your battery to start charging when below 12%....

Then theres some other technical stuff (current, voltage,,etc)that im not sure if it matters or not..let me know if you want me to post that.
73 cycles
in battery maintenance..I have a custom setting of
Start charing when below 12% stop charging at 100%
T43 .. First Thinkpad...Ordered 06/07/05...Received 06/21/05
Lovin' it

My current battery has a rating like that, but it still charges to 100% (of what it can do, which it tells me is only about 50% of what it could do in the beginning). So that's not the problem.

You may want to look at this thread (mine :D - which did not give any response) just for reference on battery life issues:
