First Impressions X41T

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Fri Jun 26, 2009 12:21 am

Just arrived today, sniped off eBay. 1869-CSU (1.6, 60gig, 1 gig of Ram, BT, Fingerprint)

Screen is amazing. I had a Flexview T43, but this is the best laptop screen I have ever seen.

KYB is precise. Clicky.

Feels much faster than my X40. (1.2, 40gig, 1.5gig ram)

Very solid feeling. Heavier, though.

In warranty through middle of August.

Now I need a stylus to see if any of the gadgetry matters to me. :) If it does, I will probably keep it. If not I'll try souping up the X40 with a new HD of either Zif or SSD variety.

These things are being used in hospital and by drug companies sales reps. The first generation reached end of their warranty and we are reaping the benefits.

Yep, mine had a few broken fan grate thingys and was sold as a "scratch and dent" but still under warranty (off-lease laptop). Got it for a really awesome price. :P

I'm excited, I just bought an X41 Tablet off eBay. Hopefully it will show up early next week. Lots of good stuff has been said about them and it's making me more anxious to receive it!
Win7 and memory will be the first things I do to it. It's going to be awesome! :D

I was wondering why so many were popping up so cheaply. Lots of X41 Tablet parts, too, probably not a coincidence. :-)

It's not so cheap after getting the missing stylus, battery, HDD and HDD cover. I hope you got a complete one.

I looked at quite a few that were missing all those parts, but I managed to snag one that is complete.

Some of the auctions don't mention if the stylus is included or not, so buyer beware. Ask questions.

I've been using mine almost 3 months now for class... I have to say the tablet function is really nice but not really necessary however I really like it because it is much smaller and lighter than my T43 so it makes it a great laptop for class and general work. I am hoping to get Windows 7 for it sometime next year and maybe a SSD as well. Once I get that I think it should run as well as any Netbook out there.

If you don't need tablet functionality, X41 is even light, smaller.

It is, but on my X41t the screen is incredible and while my x40 screen is good, it isn't as good. I assume it would be the same screen as the X41.

Balancing that against the weight and form is why I am still thinking about trading the tablet for a "normal" X41. I go back and forth. :)

Does the tablet portion add that much more weight to it?

I'm having a great time with the tablet! I am a bit sad that it's bigger than my wife's X31 though.
