To get Keyboard and Mouse: Dock, Undock, Redock!

Every morning I dock my X61 into the Ultrabase and my keyboard and mouse don't respond. Immediately, I undock, then redock and all is well. It's an acceptable workaround (no crashes or enormous time implications) but irritating nonetheless. Anyone seen this before?

I was having this problem so I switched to bluetooth mouse and keyboard
x61t 1.6 4g Ram Travelstar 7k200 Windows 7 31.9 + .1 bit
T40 2.0 dotham 2g ram 2915a/b/g
