LFT: my 80GB 7200rpm EIDE for your 320GB 7200rpm SATA

#1 Post by synchromesh » Sat Jul 04, 2009 2:30 pm

I have a nice Hitachi 80GB 7200rpm EIDE/PATA laptop drive that is laying around collecting dust bunnies. It hasn't been used much since I acquired it and it is in excellent working condition. Looking to swap that for a WD 320GB Black Edition (7200rpm drive) as they seem to go for similar prices on eBay. Will consider WD 250GB BE plus some cash or other trade. Altogether I'm flexible, try me.

This drive has been used very little over the time I owned it which is over 1 year. For the most part it's just been a backup. I'm willing to sell the 80GB outright. $55 shipped in USA.

Perhaps I'm asking too much? Feel free to make me trading offers, I'm willing to listen.

The drive you have is 2.5" EIDE which is equivalent to PATA? If so, I may have pretty close to the trade you seek. It's a Hitachi model HTS722020K9SA00 which is a 2.5" 200GB 7200rpm SATA. I bought it by accident and have only been able to use it for supplementary storage... so it has really low mileage.

Nah, I'm looking specifically for a WD Black Edition drive.

At this point it might be worth going with extra step and attempting to sell it and then buy the 320 separately. Will mod the original ad shortly.

I am versatile but I'm looking specifically for this WD drive. I do appreciate the offer.

Lowered price on the drive. Feel free to make me reasonable offers, I'm willing to negotiate somewhat.

I have a brand new (still in sealed Lenovo box) factory sealed Advanced Mini Dock (p/n 250410U) that fits most Thinkpad models, that I don't need - I could use that drive, but you will have to have an additional goodie to throw into this deal :mrgreen:

here is an ebay search showing the item I have for trade:

IBM T60 | 15'' BOE·hydis UXGA IPS | T7200 Core2Duo | 4GB CL4 | 320GB Fujitsu 7200 | Echo Indigo studio sound | NMB kb | XP Pro | Linux Mint | Win7 x64

~~~ celebrating my 37th year of working with micro computers - still have my original MITS Altair 8800 and LSI ADM-3 from '75 ~~~
I'm only interested in the hard disk listed or cash. :)
Last price drop before going to eBay.
