T40 - Power On Problem

Hi,

I've got a T40 here, that wont power on. AC and Battery are both working, keyboard also (all exchanged)

The Mainboard gets power as the battery light on the display indicates, but the machine wont start by pressing the Power Button on the keyboard.


Any idea? Maybe a blown Fuse? Anybody had the problem and knows how to fix it?

Hi and welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear of your problems.

The first thing to do is to check all the fuses and this diagram should help you locate them.

Problem were faulty solder connections under the south bridge, after reballing the SB the notebook was working perfectly.

Yes that's another Southbridge symptom. Glad you got it working.

thanks for the update , i may attempt this for a t40 i am currently working on.
