Ticking sound on T-42

#1 Post by gg3761 » Mon Jun 07, 2004 3:59 pm

Just got my 15" T-42. Got the 2379-DXU. It's great! No dead pixels, flat keyboard, no fan noise. There is a little ticking sound from the hard drive. Is that normal?

Does it correspond with hard drive activity? Does it correspond with the hard drive icon flashing?

I have read that that's normal for a new system, and it will go away with use...what exactly it is I have no idea (but would like to know)

Seems to be quite when there is no HD activity (no light)

The ticking or clicking noise will go away
I have had it in the past on 2 80GN Hd's and a 7k60
Also I have heard that it's due to XP soring out and placing the boot files
So it should go away.
