corner of screen flickering

I have an X41 tablet. This morning the bottom left corner of the screen was flickering like a CRT on a low refresh rate. It was just a small area. I rebooted and it still flickered, but less, and after a short while it stopped altogether. Any idea what all this might be about? (and whether it's a sign of bad things to come)

Looks like your backlight or inverter is on the way out.

Is there a pink tinge to the screen when you switch on ? (backlight)
What happens when you lower screen brightness ?
