cheapest way to buy a X200 tablet?

#1 Post by edelrc » Thu Jul 02, 2009 11:29 am

Hi, i purchased a couple of Thinkpads through Bill a few years back. He always had the best (trouble free) deals on these machines. But now he is not selling them anymore :( so my question where are the best deals for us now?
eBay is risky, Lenovo site is either slow or expensive, craiglist in Detroit does not list any... Where is the best site fro us? if any?!
X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)
T42p 2373-KXU 1600x1200 IPS (The best ever!!)
A20p 2629-6UU 1400x1050 (My first Thinkpad!)

1) sign up for BING.com (make sure you have the correct address)
2) search for word LCD in bing and you'll see tigerdirect listed as sponsor with 10.2% cashback.
3) once you click through and goes into tigerdirect, search for x200 (listed for 999.99)

u should be able to get the x200 for 897.99 (before taxes and shipping, depending on where you are located).

i got mine this way and it was cheaper than going through lenovo cpp site. i only paid $850 for mine.

also, the x200 from TD has a lenovo 3yr warranty based on the x200 serial #.

good luck.

^^^ Actually the OP requested the cheapest place to buy the X200 TABLET, which is usually much more expensive.

The absolute cheapest way would be going through ebay or craigslist. The Lenovo outlet would be a good choice as well. If you want cheap, buy used.

Even though there are scams, if you are 'smart' enough you can avoid them.

You can also google "X200 tablet' with 'open box' or 'used'. Provantage.com sometimes has good deals. Several people on this forum also are selling at steep discounts.
