Does X301 SU9600 already exist or fiction?

#1 Post by fortexg » Fri Jul 03, 2009 8:53 am

Hi,
New to this forum :)

Seriously considering buying the X301 (mostly due to sub 1" thickness, WXGA+ 130dpi screen; only modern screen with pixel size comparable to obsolete 14" 1400x1050 SXGA+ & dying 15.4" 1680x1050 WSXGA+)

I've searched the web & this forum, but still do not know the answer to this question:
Is Lenovo X301 with SU9600 available or not?

There is zero information on Lenovo pages I checked (US, UK, Germany,...), no press releases, etc.

Google does return some sites which supposedly sell the SU9600 X301 (mostly in US, some in Europe also).
Is this for real?
I seriously doubt this due to lack of information on official channels, but it could be a "grey" prerelease or something...

On the other hand, Lenovo might just be quiet in order to get rid of the SU9400 X301 stock...

thanks

Hmm, you have the 1.6GHz SU9600 I was referring to, or the "common" 1.4GHz SU9400 version?
You signature says 1.4 SU9400

the x301 service manual on lenovo.com lists the SU9600 next to SU9400 in CPU type section.
