Thinkpad T61 hangs in Windows 7

#1 Post by ashwink » Fri Jul 03, 2009 9:12 pm

I am using a IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T61:-

Processor: Intel T7300 Core 2 Duo
Graphics: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Hard Drive: Seagate Momentus 5400.3 ST9120822AS 120GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 1.5Gb/s Notebook Hard Drive - OEM
Memory: 2GB (2 x 1GB)

I have recently installed the Windows 7, build 7100 but found it hangs often. Is there anything that I can do to test the reasons?
and also if anyone else facing this similar issue?
Any updates with the configurations?

I have a desktop and another Toshiba laptop on which I have installed Windows 7 as well but not facing any issue on both of them.

I've no tested build 7100 (RC) on my T61, although I did installed a beta version and it ran beautifully OK.

Maybe try setting the default options in the BIOS.

What do you mean it hangs? Maybe there's something wrong with your HDD or maybe you installed a 'non-original' version downloaded straight from Microsoft.

I am using the genuine copy provided by Microsoft, not downloaded.

Any way how I can test the HDD?
