Help - Vista x64, W500, SRS Audio Sandbox is not working

#1 Post by K-a-M-u-Z-u » Sun Jul 05, 2009 6:42 am

Hi.
got my new Thinkpad W500, installed Vista X64 and everything is updated and working fine.

on my old machine(R40+vista) i had SRS Audio Sandbox running to enhance the audio(and it worked great.the same with my MSI Wind U100+vista).
but on my W500, there is no sound at all.i have the 64bit version of the SRS 1.9, it was installed right, and i have restarted windows.when i play music i can see the audio level meter working as it was playing sound, but no udio from the speakers.i tried changing the Hardware host and restart the playback, but still, no audio.
the card is conexant high definition smartaudio 221 and it works fine when i TEST it in the Vista's Mixer.
does anyone know what could be the problem?
thnkx.

This issue was already raised in the forum here.... the conclusion was that there are hardware limitations set by IBM/lenovo on audio chip that cannot be by-passed :/
There is no chance to enhance the sound properties in thinkpads, unfortunately :/
